Doing CNC work in Houston TX has some real advantages. One key advantage is a strong local supply base. Bass Tool & Supply (https://www.basstool.com) is the supplier I use for most of my cutting tools and related supplies. If I break an endmill, I hop on their website. Their website has a great view of their inventory. So I can quickly find what I need, and if need be make a tradeoff. For example, maybe I was using a 4 flute endmill, but they have a 6 flute which has the right coating, and material in stock. If they have what I need in stock (they usually do), I drop a WILL CALL order and they have it ready for me when I walk in the door 20 minutes later.
