Edge Technology Pro Touch Off Gage

Every time I turn on the machine to make a part, I remeasure all of the tools that I will be using. I do this to ensure accuracy and to catch any tool damage that may have gone unnoticed in the last job. This use to mean taking each tool out of the machine, measuring it with a height gage, manually entering the values into the PathPilot software, and then reloading the tools in the machine.

With the touch off gage the task of measuring tools has become faster, more repeatable, and now has less opportunity for manual errors.  As the video below shows, I can let the ATC (automatic tool changer) pick and store the tools for me, and updating values is simply clicking one button for each tool measured.  Buying this was money well spent.
